Are gingers discriminated against???

Yesterday, as I sat at C3's baseball game, slowing fuming, I began to wonder if Gingers, the new term for being a red head, are discriminated against.

Its obvious we stand out in a crowd.  In the summer our hair gets redder and our bodies do too.  Most red heads are slightly off the wall, funny as hell and very quirky.  Ok, fine, I cant speak for most red heads, but I can speak for me and for my son.  He is funny as hell. Just ask KLP about the time he yelled at her at a crowded baseball field.  'Look Woman'!  she was dying with laughter, but the Christian preschool teacher sitting next to her was appalled!  You have to know C3.  Last week, while lost on the back roads of WI, C3 shouts out...'paddle faster dad, I hear banjos'!

So...Back to gingers...or maybe its just my kid I dont know.  And here is a warning.  I am going to complain about something and someone...but I am NOT going to use their name and no one I know who reads this is going to know who I am talking about.  Even if they do, please note, I am not insulting them personally!!!!  So back off!!!!  Personally, I think these people are great...I am just annoyed at their decisions, and I AM ENTITLED TO MY OPINION!  Can you tell that I once posted a complaint, not using any names, and it got around to that person and they emailed me and yelled at me.  good lord...it wasn't like I said I didn't like their teeth or their breath smelled bad...sigh...

So, my son, 8 yrs old.  Red head...burns like crazy...cute kid, is also a baseball player.  He is not the best on the team by far, and he is not the worst by far.  His coach has told me he is the top 3rd or 4th on the team.  Quite a proud moment for a mom who rarely gets proud moments...I usually get the reports of what they did wrong...hardly ever what they do right ;)

So, My son, THE STAR OF THE TEAM, yes I am only kidding!!!  is no worse or better than the other kids when it comes to paying attention.  either.  Well, ok, he pays attention better than some of the kids, well most of the kids but oddly enough, if he turns his head and looks at the fence, they are yelling his name, while other kids are playing in the dirt.  Three times in one inning yesterday.  He's in position, 3rd base, an important position and dangerous, and he has to pay attention.  the other kids there are usually dancing around...He's there, facing the batter, looking away occasionally, since the ball is not being pitched and they keep yelling at him.  He played catcher to that game.  He was upset because the coach yelled at him to pay attention, keep his head in the game kind of thing.  UM  Its catcher.  No one has taught any of the kids what to do there.  One of the other boys who played catcher after my child, just sat there and let every ball hit him in the face.  My son, at least tried to stop each ball.  Why do they keep yelling at my kid. He's not throwing dirt around..he knows better because of his asthma.  His mitt is rarely on his head while in the outfield.  He tries when he's behind the plate, but they are always yelling at him.

One game, it was very very very windy.  He is a left handed batter, the wind was blowing the dust directly into a lefty's face as they were trying to bat.  I told him, next at bat to switch and bat righty.  Cause I had told his coaches the first day, he is a switch hitter.  He goes up and lines up right, coach pitching moves him back to lefty.  Sigh...Next day at practice, I tell him to bat right.  He says to coach, I want to bat right, coach says well if you think you can hit it.  Coach was ducking and kids were shagging balls big time.  C3 had early on also asked coach to pitch faster...it took me during a practice to tell coach to pitch faster.  C3 asked and coach said he didn't think C3 could hit it, or something like that.  Sigh.....

yes, its stupid little league 8yr old baseball.  but come one!  My child spends most of his time in the outfield.  My child can catch the ball, stop the ball and throw the ball.  Yesterdays game, He was on third, he's never played second or short, and he got two of the three outs.  Next inning they put a player on third who ran away from the ball.  He knows how to chase down the ball and how to get the out.  He's not perfect, but he tries!  and he spends most of his time in the outfield.  6 innings, usually 5 in the field, and three out of 5 in the outfield.

Batting.  My son has the highest on base percentage.  he hits the ball every single time!  He has only struck out once the entire season.  He is on base 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 5 times.  but usually he's 3 for 3 or 4 for 4.  Its rare for him to not get a single.  he bats in the 6th or 7th position.  EVERY GAME.  he has never batted higher.

Now if it was just this season, I would say oh well...but the exact same thing happened last year with different coaches.   He batting was excellent, his fielding not as good.  Last year, he never played 2nd, ss or 3rd.  He always batted low.

Please dont you dare get me wrong.  I love the coaches. and I get it.  Dont tell me if you dont like it, you coach.  I HAVE!  been there done that.  I volunteer for more positions than most people do.  I am not an official coach for my sons team, but I have taught two of the boys how to throw the damn ball.  Coaches I dont even know now use the term I taught last year...watch the bat hit the ball.  It was my mantra last year.  I can get any boy to hit the ball by yelling that to him as the coach pitches.  I volunteer for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Softball, Baseball and things that I just get signed up for by my friends!

This is not about the coaches themselves.  This is about the curse of the red head.   At baseball, he's quiet, listens and works hard.  You should see him in football.  His first year last year he had a near asthma attack, because in 90+ degree heat he was the only kid running from and to every single event.  He runs out to his position, and outfield is a long run, he runs in from his position.  He always knows where his gear is.  He's always ready to play.  yet he's always overlooked.

You would think being a red head we would be more noticeable.  Oddly enough, its the opposite.  Our passion for things we love cannot be measured.  yet its never recognized.  I wonder why.

Back in the dark ages, it was thought that red heads were the spawn of the devil(hush mom!).  Some cultures thought were were vampires.  Perhaps these beliefs have never really gone away?

Maybe deep down people are afraid of us, or nervous around us, or maybe we are invisible??  Maybe this is why we are louder and more 'off the wall' than others...maybe we are invisible and we are just trying to be seen and heard?

Next year, they wont put baby in the corner again.  BTW..dumbest movie line EVER!!!  I wont allow it...well, i'm not a confrontational person, so I guess I ll just sit in my chair and cheer on every single hit he gets and watch him get stranded every single time.  Actually, I dont cheer.  Every hit he gets, he looks at me and we give each other a sign.  Same for in the field...we have a sign..we use it often.  He knows I am watching, I am proud, I am excited...he flashes me his sign, I flash mine back.  its all we need.

Maybe deep down we are a quiet breed?

Thank you Dist 26...

I am so proud of living and having my children go to District 26...ummmm...LIE!  Ok..this is not about the financial woes that they have suffered and then passed along the suffering to my children.  There is nothing I or the dist can do about that.  At least not until we can grow our own money.  This is in reference to school lunch accounts.

My children have given a no limit credit card.  WOOHOOO!  This is so exciting.  There are problems with this on two levels.

Thank you for no longer teaching my children how to pay for something with cash and how to check their change to make sure they got the right amount back, and how to make sure they have enough to purchase what they want.  You have replaced this wonderful system of spend only what you have with, SPEND WHATEVER YOU WANT, THERE ARE NO CONSEQUENCES!

I bet the CEO of the big banks and lending companies attended Dist 26!  My youngest child, C3 is 8 yrs old.  He has a -35.05 balance on his account.  So his current credit rating is around 100.  Poor child will never be able to buy a house!  the funny part, is they keep letting him buy chocolate milk.

Cool!  I want to be on that program...I want to be able to go to the store with my debit card and have my account be negative, but still buy things!  SWEET!

Yes, it is my child's responsibility to not purchase things when he has been told not to .  I did tell him not to.  Course, I also say, dont climb up on the shed and jump off.  and dont sneak candy in the morning. But wow...he's 8.  Hell, I still sneak candy in the morning if none of the kids are around to catch me!

Have they ever told him that he has no money?  Wait, let me ask....Nope.  they have never said, 'C1, your account is negative, you have no money to buy this, so go get some water instead.'  Nope...they just hand him the goods and off he goes.

Way to go...C1  You are now a white collar criminal!

Pinterest and the stuff on it.....

Kinda liking the newest internet fad, Pinterest.  HAHAHA.  spell check doesn't recognize it!  anyway, I have found lots of great ideas on it, and I have found some oddities on it also....and then there's this....

The 30 Day Marriage Challenge...It states, Try our 30 Day Marriage challenge and we think your relationship will see a big difference.  Your Husband will love it!

HUGE FREAKING SIGH!  So....Myself being the ultimate negative nelly...(no clue where that phrase came from but I use it frequently) I am going to dissect this  list one by one and ENJOY EVERY DAY OF IT!.

Day 1.  Ask, "What can I help you with today?"  Ummm....Ummmm....I'm not quite sure where to start on this one.  Umm....yes, he man of the house was at work all day, working hard etc etc...while we what? sat around watching soap operas and eating bons bons.  Are Soaps even on anymore and what the hell is a Bon bon???  Yesterday, I left the house at 7:20 am and got home at 3 then sat around with my feet up enjoying my evening....ummm...no!  Made dinner, helped with homework, cleaned the kitchen and house, laundry etc etc...and finally fell into bed around 11 or midnight where I proceeded to have trouble sleeping until 2.

Day 2. Go a whole day without correcting your husband.   HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.. No wait...seriously...  HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Day 3 Hug your husband three times today.    Can't he hug me three times...and I do mean a hug, not a grope while I'm cutting up onions.  *sigh*

Day 4  Kiss your husband the first time you see him in the morning.    ewwwwww....I mean really...ewwwwww.  We dont do well together in the morning...I dont like him in the morning...he turns on the bathroom light with the door open so the light shines on my face or actually talks to me while I'm sleeping......no thanks.

Day 5  Tell yourself, "He really loves his family and he's doing his best for us."  Um...to me this is saying forgive the fact that the man you married is an asshole, he's trying.  (sorry mom)  I dont think so.  I have no problem wacking my husband upside the back of my head.

Day 6.  Bake, make, or buy his favorite food.  I think I just threw up a little.

Day 7.  Leave him a sweet note.  Oh lordy...Really?  a sweet note?  Like what...I love you, I'm thinking about you, You suck but I know you are doing your best?  WHO THE HELL CAME UP WITH THESE

Day 8.  Put at least one date night on your calendar this month  With my husband or girlfriends?

Day 9.  Imagine how it feels to be in your husbands shoes.  What...you mean to be able to call and say i'll be late tonight, going out with the guys, or yelling upstairs for batteries cause the remote died? or walking over three laundry baskets at the foot of the stairs while saying good night...

Day 10.  Today's focus:  kindness   How bout...I will not kill the man today

Day 11.  Tell him, “I’m so glad I married you.”  My husband would check the liquor cabinet!

Day 12.  Pray for wisdom in being a wife.  what the hell does that even mean.  Does it mean, pray for the wisdom to relize that even the best killer gets caught after a while..

Day 13.  Do not use sarcasm with your husband today.  HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH  I just failed this one three times since typing it!

Day 14.  Remember that being a wife is a blessing.  OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

Day 15.  Think only positive thoughts about your husband.  Really...I swear I think I'm going to have a stroke from laughing so hard.

16. Thank him for all he does for your family.  Your right..rolling over at 3am to wake me up to tell me that a child is up...Thank you, you *&$^#.  Weren't you already awake.

17.  Laugh with your husband today.  Oh I do that one every day...oh...wait..I thought it said laugh AT

18.  Who is a wife you admire? Try to be more like her today.  Holy SHIT (sorry mom).  What?  Like June Cleaver?  I'm thinking more like Rosanne

19.  Don’t ask him to do any chores or honey-dos.  OMG  I have to go fix myself a drink.  this is beyond bordering on the absurd!  OH wait...That's right.  The ladies in the 50's had 'handy men'.  I gotta get me one of those!  JK Lou!

20.  Today’s focus: patience.  Oh you have no idea!

21.  Forgive him when he makes a mistake.  I swear to god, 30 seconds ago I whipped a piece of chocolate at his head for mentioning something to one of the kids he shouldn't have.  course then I quickly picked it up and ate it!

22.  Assume the best about your husband.  Oh...so I shouldn't cringe when he opens his mouth to say something?  Oops failed that one too

23.  Treat him with respect today.  Right...for today, I will not call him a dumb ass.......to his face

24.  Do not interrupt your husband when he’s talking.  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...but..but...He's a dumb ass who doesn't have a clue what he is talking about...oh doh...just broke 23 and 20 and 15 and probably a few others just by typing that

25.  Ask your husband’s opinion on something.  Sure...I try that all the time.  Honestly I do, His response....I dont care or he says sure whatever...yeah..that was fun!

26.  Encourage your husband.  um..to do what?  Way to go honey...way to flip that channel.  Woohoo! you are awesome!    Wow that belch was impressive..I think the neighbors heard it.  I fail that one too.

27.  Do one thing good for his health (Make a healthy dinner; take a walk together; make an appointment for his annual physical.) does walking out of the room when I cannot do number #23 or my #20 is low or #11 is just so not true today?

28.  Look at him admiringly. Make sure he sees you looking at him.  ummm..exactly what kind of look is that?  I dont think I know how to do that?  Should I practice in the mirror?  I know how to do annoyed, anger, frustration, etc etc etc...admiringly?  WTF is that? Maybe I should watch old episodes of Leave it to Beaver...or maybe I saw it once on the Brady Bunch

29.  Turn off your cell phone, computer, or the TV when your husband is in the room.  Hey..I turn off my cell phone/computer for NO ONE!  I dont even turn it off in chruch..If I dont turn it off for the big guy, I sure as hell am not turning it off for .....oh damn...busted #23 yet again

30.  Today’s focus: love.  I LOVE MY VODKA, I LOVE MY VODKA, I LOVE MY VODKA

I am so going to hell........

Welcome back to the 1950's

With the fact that mortgage interest rates are way low, we are doing a refi.  Nothing major...simple refi..dropping almost 2%.  I'm not sure what it all means, but my husband was practically doing cartwheels about it.

So...we have home appraiser come out which we pay for up front but get the money back at closing...ok whatever...

Guy comes out...I do the dog and pony show, and yes mom my house is spotless!  They say it doesn't matter but I think it does.  Anyway..we get the report and there are MAJOR ERRORS on it.  So first thing I do is dispute ;the charge on my CC.  I am not paying for garbage :)

Second...I call the now VP of the company we have always worked with since we bought the house.  I leave him a vmail telling him to please call me as there are several errors on the report.  It doesn't affect the refi, it just annoys me.  Hello, we have more than 1 bathroom and dont have a crawlspace any where that I've ever seen.  Things like that.   Guy doesn't call me back.....get this

He emails my hubby telling him that he received a call from me about problems and could my hubby please send him a list  of the issues.

and now as we enter the way back machine, Mr. Peabody says...WTF!  Oh wait...let me polish my pearls and flatten my petticoat...its ruffled a touch...

I haven't called hubby about this yet...but I know he'll defend Ward, saying, oh he didn't mean it like that,  and I'll have to rip hubby's head off and hand it to him.

June Cleaver's dead man.  I am a semi intelligent woman who can get three kids off to school, while balancing the checkbook, staring a roast, cleaning the kitchen, scraping mud off dogs etc etc....

If I leave you a vmail you had better call me back!!  I do wear pants afterall.

How to be sexy....

Stand in line at any grocery store checkout and yes, there is at least one magazine that has suggestions on how us girls should be more sexy for our men.  sigh......

Why does the burden fall on us?  I dont see men's magazines with giant headlines, be sexier for your special someone with these 10 proven tips!  Never seen that, nope nu uh...course I've seen, take this pill and you and her will smile for hours....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Sigh.....

We all know that we are not and will never be good enough.  The media has been telling us that forever.  Our thighs are not firm enough, we have belly fat, our boobs need giant super 'comfortable' underwire to keep them from tripping us, our butts, thank god are behind us and we cant see them, since they are to big, jiggly, cottage cheesy...  Damnit, we are ugly as sin!  So, we go to the gym, go to the plastic surgeon, buy life sucking spandex type material to hide it.  We do this because, afterall, we have to look good for our man.

WTF people.

Google, how to look good for your husband...205,000,000 in 19 seconds
How to look good for wife....About 399,000,000 results
(0.24 seconds)   But..wait a minute...first couple of results...fine...after that, and I do mean on the first page
6th from the top, What will make my wife look good, followed by Have photoshop, how to make your wife look good.  I AM NOT KIDDING PEOPLE!

Bookstores, self help sections geared towards women..womans magazines telling us we suck but we can improve, seminars, entire weekends devoted to making our marriage happy and wonderful and how to spice things up in the bedroom.

Perhaps I am missing something here..Women, have a job..some have more than one..working outside the house and taking care of the house and the kids and the husband.  But for me, I'm at home. I work more than my husband  2x more.. Course I dont get paid for it so it doesn't count..but that's another posting.

Hubby goes to work, comes home, eats dinner does whatever.
Mommy gets up and is working before even out of our jammies.  We prepare that delicious meal that we dont get told thanks for and then our evening continues until we put all the kids to bed and then the hubby wants some snuggling time.  Quick...you are tired...think back to that article you read in line at the store...how to please your man when your exhaused.  WHAT?????  How bout this for an article...hubby wants some lovin...you are exhausted..how to slap the shit out of him and get away with it!

Why is it up to us to make sure that our marriages are happy and wonderful. That the man of our life is happy and pleased in all ways.  Why are there seminars geared towards women and not men...articles how how to please our man, but not the other way around.  Why is it that if suddenly our hubby stops paying attention we start reading self help books..thinking, what did I do wrong, should I dye my hair, buy a new outfit, wrap myself in saran wrap?  (favorite all time scene from Fried Green Tomatoes)

Oh yes, the hubbies work hard...have to go to work every day..blah blah blah blah..bullshit.  We work twice as hard and twice as long.  and guess what else...when they retire, we dont get to!  We still have a house to take care of and laundry to do and errands to run!!

So her's a little bit of advice for the man in your life.

Men, husbands, boyfriends, whatever.....things slowing down in the bedroom, honey not paying as much attention to you as when you were first married, feel in a rut, lacking excitement, bored with the same old routine... Well, I have the answer for you!!!

Get off your ass and do something about it.

If you see your honey carrying full baskets of laundry upstairs, dont say, need help?...get up off your ass and run yes, run and say, here let me get those for you.

if you walk in and nothing is cooking in the kitchen, Dont' ask What's for dinner, say, Honey, can I make breakfast for dinner for all of us?  Yes, you have to ask first,  its not your kitchen its hers!

NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER walk in say hi, sit down at the computer to check your email and call down, do you want to come up and talk to me.  guess what the answer is stupid...NO. She m been busy all day, Has probably  just sat down..make the effort to care about HER, and walk your lazy ass down stairs and sit next to her and say Hi Babe..whats up.

Men..are you getting the point here...Put that woman up on a pedastal and never and I do mean never say anything about her growing backside...she did give birth to your children you know.

Want some lovin...clean the bathroom.

Life is very simple...we women are not at all complicated.  Look at us when we are telling you about the strange sound the vacuum made..it is not important to you, but it is to us and you should care what we care about.  Dont walk out of the room when we are talking to you and shout..i can still hear you.

Dinner, regardless of whether its awesome or a disaster, should be treated like a 9 course meal served at the best restaurant in the world.   and your woman should be rewarded accordingly.
Which means, for you silly, brain dead men, that you should kiss us on our forehead and say, wow, that was wonderful, when can we have it again, as you start to clear the table. I guarantee you will go to sleep with a smile on your face.

So, you notice a pattern..We, well most of us, do not need diamonds or roses or huge expensive vacations..yes, they are nice but that is not what makes us happy.  What truly makes us happy is you reminding us every day why we fell in love with you.  The opening of our car door, not honking the horn and yelling hurry up while revving the engine.  Smiling when we enter the room, even if we are still wearing yesterdays clothes.  If you get up and get yourself a drink, ask if we'd like one too? If you stop at the store, how bout asking us if we need anything.  ..I hope, I pray that you are getting the picture here..

Men, its simple...and does not take a lot of effort.  Be Nice.  Oh..that's from Roadhouse..with Patrick Swayze.  Be Nice.

And to all of those womens magazines telling us how to keep our man happy  BITE ME!

How much is to much?

We all know that when God was handing out parts, I stood in line at the gift of gab a little to long.  That's how I always looked at it.  When we were made we stood in line..some of us should have stood in line longer at some stations and other stood in line to long, or got back in line for seconds when they should have moved on.  :)

Anyway...I do so love to talk.  *shock* *gasp* (playing the part of mom, Lisa just fell over)  It is one of my favorite things to do...well wait..let me clarify.  I dont like to talk on the phone very often...sometimes, but, ok fine...most of the time I do.  Especially when I am folding laundry or cleaning etc etc.  Can you believe I dont like to talk when I am online gaming!

Actually, there are places I dont talk very much.  Some people who only see me in these places think that I am mean or angry or just plain rude cause I dont talk.  BWAHAHAHAHAHA!  Isn't that a riot!  The truth is I probably dont want to be there!!! so I am pouting!!!

I don't talk if I'm stressed out, KLP knows this from wrestling.  Can you believe there are some days I just don't talk to anyone outside of the required kids/hubby/dogs/cat/bird.

I love to telly stories...The Hamster story or the 40th birthday part story are my absolute favorite!  To fricking good to be true in my book, but honest they are. ( I could have so sworn there..my Mom isn't around to read this! NO!  She's not dead, she's on vacation)

I have had meaningful live altering conversations with the checkout at the supermarket.  I just met the guy at gamestop and wow did we have a great conversation.  He has two kids, 4 months and 20 months.  His dad keeps forgetting not to swear around the oldest.  His favorite word is now shit.  He wrestled in high school, has a very strong neck and goes to weight watchers on sundays instead of church.  Wow...He was a talker....

Once, in the parking lot of Target, a complete stranger started telling me how she was unfriending her daughter who though she was a lazy son of a bitch(the daughter though of the mother) cause after she got out of the hospital where she was cause her F-ing husband put her there....blah blah blah blah...
That was a VERY odd conversation...

Ok, people like to talk to me too...I wonder why?  I dont really care...I mean dont we all just sit there watching the other persons mouth move waiting for them to shut up so we can tell our story??  (The really annoying ones interrupt our story, after we patiently waited for them to shut up so they can tell more of theirs, or one up us.  *bitchslap*  )  or is it just me.  (ok, fine, I really dont do this, only to strangers)  Oh man.....my friends are so going to be annoyed at me now!  I swear...I dont do this very often!   I haven't had any good stories to tell lately!

If something is funny, I like to share it.  Why not make the stranger next to me laugh.  Maybe they are having a bad day?  In the locker room at the YMCA.  Wrapped in a towel...trying to  get dressed, turned to the elderly lady next to me and said, there just is no graceful way to put your underwear on under a towel....  I thought I gave her a stroke!  But maybe I brightened her day..or maybe I became her story of how a complete stranger came up to her hand naked and started talking about her underwear!  OMG!!!!  I'm the woman in the target parking lot!!!!!

Have I become one of 'those' moms?

As most of you know, Mom dont read this, C3 is still involved in wrestling..  See previous post regarding not breathing and all :)  Here.   So...He has continued wrestling after getting the Doctor's ok.  it has been difficult for  him to say the least.

He has lost every single match he has participated in.  I call each loss a learning experience.  Every time he has lost, he has learned how to counter a new move.  And each match we (he) tries to do something very specific.  We have been working on Standing up, which he gets a point for and not crying, there should be points awarded for that also.  May be not big in some peoples worlds, but in ours, its huge.  As for the crying thing, I have seen plenty of older kids crying at the end of matches, so it makes me feel a tiny bit better.

So, He has been learning, actually getting some points and having fun?  I don't know, he seems to like it even though he demands we leave and he's quitting after each match.  I don't blame him.  I let him vent then we go buy a Gatorade and get ready for the next one.

As previously stated in my last post about this, link above, this is the hardest thing I have ever had to do.  Console my child, listen to him vent, cry, sob, get angry and then send him back in where in 3 minutes we will do it all over again.  I know..Its what moms do.  We dont let our kids become quitters.  Life is tough...life is not fair...life is hard...you will spend years getting your ass kicked and you will have to still get out of bed each morning and move on.  One day, you will win, when, no one knows, but you dont give up...you keep trying, you never quit, and you play fair....

ahh...here is where I am leading to...playing fair.  People do not always play fair.  Children dont play fair, adults dont play fair, life is not fair.  When we were kids, and we complained that something was unfair our parents told us to suck it up and deal.  Either dont play with that kid or work it out.  I play by that same philosophy.  Life is not fair.  Teachers are not fair, I am not fair..suck it up..deal with it and move one.  Some times there are no solutions...you have to suffer through.

Wrong kid get sent to his/her room, oh well, deal with, life is not fair.
Boss, promotes dude that harvests crops all day...oh well life is not fair
kid next to you graduates first in his class but cheats on every test...oh well....blah blah blah

I am a firm believer that what goes around comes around.  Cheat through life and it will come back and bite you in the ass.  I also believe in letting it go...you got cheated, it sucks, nothing you can do about it? move on.

Now..on to Sundays meet.  C3 had a really good meet last weekend.  Got 9 point his last match and would have won if not for a mistake he made with an illegal hold, not mean, locked his hands, not allowed...and he didn't cry!!!  it was wonderful

So it was a stretch to fit in Sunday's meet as it was the same day we were celebrating my Dad's 70th bday...but I really wanted him to go because he now had a taste of near victory..of something other than being on his back the whole time.

So, his first match...I was close by due to asthma stuff.. He has requested that I be close by but I dont shout out instructions...I'm just there in case he needs me.  His fear of not being able to breath is almost gone.  He has done wonderfully!  I told him that if he gets winded during a match and he's on his stomach (either that or his back is where hs spends all of his time) to take a second and take a break.  Catch his breath...its been awesome for him!

So...his first match...was going good...then next thing I know he's on his back.  No big deal.  He's there a lot, he knows how to get out of it.  its actually very funny.  Kind of three stooges like.  he rolls to his side an starts running in circles on the mat.  Makes me laugh out loud every time he does it!  This time is different though.  All his coach and I can see is the legs of him and the boy.  C3's legs are panicking.  Jumping up and down...he is panicking.  C3 doesn't panic about getting pinned.  He's always getting pinned.

Ref hits the mat calls it a pin.  Boys stand up.  C3 is blue...lips and all..blue...he's holding his nose, mouth wide open half crying half gasping.  I find it odd.. Honestly, the blue thing doesn't bother me.  he will breathe..Its ok.  But its odd.  So, he comes over to me after shaking hands with the kid and the other coach, and he's holding his nose.  I figure he got elbowed in the nose or something like that.  it happens.  We walk off so he can regain in composure.  then I find out that the other boy, while on top of him pinning him, which is difficult for C3 in the first place, breathing thing and getting squished and all, PINCHED HIS NOSE SHUT!

this is the inside of my head after I clarified what C3 just told me  ARE YOU F-ING KIDDING ME...WHERE IS THAT KID...I'M GOING TO RIP HIS ......etc etc etc.

The the outside of me proceeded to tell C3 how sorry I was that his first opponent was a low down dirty cheater and how proud of him I was for not cheating or resorting to violence against his opponent.

Well, the rest of the day went down hill from there.  His fear of not being able to breath, which was gone, was now back full force.  He basically refused to move the rest of the matches...and I didn't blame him in the least.  He was scared!

Then, I did the mom unthinkable.  On the car ride the way home.  We were discussing his day.  How difficult it was for him, how upsetting it was for him and myself.  That's when I did it.  I told my beautiful good natured red headed little boy, that if anyone every does that to him again, to start beating the shit out of him. To start punching him as fast as he could.  Imagine the dead silence from the back seat.  I explained my reasoning.  It was obvious that C3's coach couldn't see what was going on and the ref was focusing on C3's shoulders and the mat, so he didn't see it either.  Now, if C3 starts punching the kid, the ref will see that or at least the other coach and they will have a fit.  The ref will stop the match to warn C3.  This will then give C3 a chance to tell the ref and his coach what the kid was doing.  I know...tattling is now allowed...WHATEVER.  Then C3 can decide if he wants to continue to wrestle this little shit, or walk over and call him a cheating bastard and forfeit, which I would NOT fault him for!

Yes, I know, I just gone done saying that life is not fair and you cannot quit...which is true, however, this case is different.  He is there to participate in a sport...to participate fairly, to do his best with what he has been taught.

Kids cheat...its not fair, I get that.  However, this kid went beyond cheating.  This kid caused my child to fear for his life.  If you fear for your life, then you had damn well better walk away.

Self preservation my friend.  Trumps all!
